From the 9th to the 10th of June 2018, will take place the Mezhyhirya Festival. This year, the festival will deal with the recovery process of state assets and especially with this process in Ukraine. It will also try to determinate how the international experience in this field can foster and make faster and more efficient this kind of process. As the name suggests it, the festival will occur in the residency of ex-president Yanukovych, who fled the country after the 2013-2014 Ukrainian revolution. It will gather more than 350 participants composed of international and local experts and will be organized around more than ten events like talks, discussions, workshops & parties.
The experience of Libera in this field may be useful, that’s why it will obviously be present to provide all its support to the Mezhyhirya festival.
This event is organized by the Yanukovych Leaks, which is a consortium of Ukrainian journalists that disclosed the luxurious lifestyle of ex president Yanukovych, by the OCCRP (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) , whose aim is to promote an international investigative reporting and support technology-based approaches to exposing organized crime and corruption worldwide and finally by the Media Development Foundation. This non-profit organization acts mainly in three areas: investigative/enterprise journalism, journalism exchanges and specialized training.
