How mafia culture seeps into people’s day-to-day life


A pizzeria in southern Calabria tries to attract the clientele using out of the ordinary methods. If a customer feels like eating pizza with mozzarella, sharp salami and peas he will be forced to order a so-called „Pizza ’ndrangheta”.

Certain customers voiced their outrage due to the unfortunate diffusion of mafia-related topics in day-to-day life. It is not the first time people raise their dissatisfaction when it comes down to improving the image, even unconsciously, of organized crime organisations. In the recent years, protests in Italy have taken place against foreign pizzerias serving „Pizza Al Capone” or „Pizza Mafioso”.
